SYLVA Labs is a Singapore-based AI studio that ships practical, WhatsApp-first tools for small businesses — salons, restaurants, retailers, contractors, and the rest of the local SMB economy.
Why we started
We kept watching the same story play out: a salon owner spending three hours every Sunday writing TikTok captions; a steel distributor manually answering the same WhatsApp price enquiries 50 times a week; a café manager juggling staff swap requests in a chaotic WhatsApp group. None of them needed another app. They needed AI that actually does the work, on the platform they already live in — WhatsApp.
Global SaaS isn't built for them. The tools are too generic, the pricing is wrong for SGD, the language is wrong for Singapore. So we're building tools that are specifically tuned for the way Singapore SMBs operate — local idioms, festivals, regulators, customer behaviour.
How we build
SYLVA Labs builds a focused suite of AI tools for Singapore SMBs. We're in private beta with select customers and intentionally not broadcasting the full roadmap — but every product we ship shares the same three principles:
- WhatsApp-first. If the customer or staff member can't do it from WhatsApp, we haven't finished building it.
- Approval-based AI. The AI proposes; the human disposes. Nothing goes live without a one-tap human approval.
- Singapore-native. Localised tone, prices in SGD, awareness of NEA / SFA / MOM / IRAS, festival timing, neighbourhood feel.
How we operate
SYLVA Labs is bootstrapped and customer-funded. We don't take VC money. Every feature ships only when it's earned its place by helping a real customer.
